Despite missing several key players and having only a handful of sessions with new coach Xabi Alonso before departing for the FIFA Club World Cup, Real Madrid already shows clear signs of the Spaniard’s influence during their US tour, link live luongsontv.

Training Sessions Marked by Intensity and Engagement

Sources close to The Athletic reveal that training at Real’s Valdebebas Sports Complex has taken on a noticeably higher tempo and energy level compared to the era under Carlo Ancelotti. While Ancelotti mostly observed from the sidelines, delegating training duties to his assistants—his son Davide and Francesco Mauri—Alonso is deeply involved on the pitch, constantly moving and communicating directly with players.

At the Miami training base, where Real prepared for the Club World Cup, Alonso actively participated in drills. For example, during resistance band sprints, he personally threw balls for Lucas Vázquez to head after each run. He’s frequently present during small-sided games on reduced-size pitches, halting play to provide tactical input, and even joins in “keep-away” exercises, helping players like Jude Bellingham sharpen their shooting.

Discipline and Focus: Hallmarks of Alonso’s Coaching Style

Alonso emphasizes focus and precision from the very start of each session. His assistant, Sebas Parrilla, initiates training by loudly calling out numbers, prompting players to quickly group up, with push-ups as penalties for laggards. This drill aims to instill immediate concentration.

Known for attention to detail, Alonso doesn’t hesitate to reprimand any lapses in focus but is equally quick to praise flawless execution. Alex Grimaldo, his former Leverkusen defender, described Alonso as “strict but respectful,” recalling how the coach firmly addressed misplaced passes during practice.

Bringing a Trusted Team and Modern Methods

Upon arriving at Real Madrid, Alonso brought much of his Leverkusen staff: assistant Sebas Parrilla, analyst Alberto Encinas, and fitness coach Ismael Camenforte López, who previously worked with Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy. He also added Spanish football veterans Benat Labaien (analyst/assistant coach) and goalkeeper coach Luis Llopis, at Real since 2021.

This new setup marks a shift from traditional fitness routines led by Antonio Pintus, which emphasized long-distance running. Instead, Camenforte López designs fitness drills simulating real-game scenarios, aiming to keep sessions engaging while demanding constant focus, live luong son tv.

Tech-Driven Analysis: Drones and Video Review

Alonso heavily incorporates video technology into his coaching. Real Madrid has contracted a drone company to capture aerial footage of every training session, enabling detailed tactical analysis back at the hotel.

“In the heat of training, it’s tough to scrutinize every movement live,” Alonso explained at a Miami session. “But reviewing video later helps us analyze both group dynamics and individual performances. This approach will be a cornerstone throughout the season.”

A New Chapter for Real Madrid

Alonso’s hands-on, detail-oriented style contrasts with Ancelotti’s minimalist approach, which gave players more autonomy on the field. Yet the young Spanish coach believes his methods will resonate with the squad.

“I have great respect for Carlo’s work, but Real Madrid is entering a new phase,” Alonso stated. “We inherit a strong foundation, but my staff and I will bring fresh adjustments to elevate the team.”
